Process Analysis Assignment

Write a well-developed and organized directional process essay on one of the following topics or one of your own that has been cleared with your instructor.

Directional

  1. How to change a flat tire
  2. How to change the oil
  3. How to quit smoking
  4. How to write an effective essay
  5. How to succeed in a job interview
  6. How to flunk out of college
  7. How to lose friends

Reminders: 

  • Provide for a general introductory paragraph, which includes an overview of the process, any materials needed, and indicates where the process begins.
  • Begin each successive paragraph with a topic sentence that summarizes the step. Then proceed to describe each step using any method of development for clarification.
  • Inform your reader of any precautions, hazards, etc.
  • Use chronological order.
  • For directional processes, use direct commands.
  • Use transitions for coherence.
  • Finally, end with a concluding paragraph, which indicates where the process ends, and a re-iteration of its purpose.

Informational

Write a well-developed informational process essay on any one of the following or one of your own that has been cleared by your instructor.

  1. How Americans (or some other nationality) celebrate a particular holiday 
  2. How Americans bury their dead
