COMPARISON/CONTRAST:

ACTIVITIES

Comparison/Contrast Writing Activities

  1. Find magazine ads that use comparison/contrast to make a point or sell a product.  What is the basis of each comparison?  How effective or ineffective is each comparison?

  2. Have you ever been to the same place twice?  Think for a moment about how the first and second visits to this place differed.  How were they similar?  What were the primary reasons for the similarities and differences in your perceptions of these visits?
