Attendance

Students must attend all scheduled classes.

The only class that I did not do well in while in college was "How to Teach the Empty Chair."  Therefore, students are expected to attend all scheduled classes.  Any student who during a regular semester misses more than five classes will not be allowed to finish the course.  For summer sessions that meet four times a week, the limit is two classes.

Missed Assignments

Absence from class does not excuse a student from assignments.

It is your responsibility to keep up with them.  If by chance,
you cannot submit an essay on the due date during class time,
please put it in my mailbox in building 7, room 711, anytime during
that day.  It is better not to miss a class. The missed assignment is due
the next class.  You will suffer a "grade drain" if the essay is turned in
one class after that.  The assignment will not be accepted two classes
after its due date.

Students are encouraged to contact me in case of any extenuating circumstances which may affect attendance or missed assignments. Please go to my home page for contact procedures.
