Absence from class does not excuse a student from assignments.  It is your responsibility to keep up with them.  If by chance, you cannot submit an essay on the due date during class time, please put it in my mailbox in building 7, room 711, anytime during that day.  It is better not to miss a class. The missed assignment is due the next class.  You will suffer a "grade drain" if the essay is turned in one class after that.  The assignment will not be accepted two classes after its due date.
