- life in the United States now and life in the United States in the year
you were born
- writer's choice [subject to instructor's approval]
Begin by writing an outline, following
these specifications:

 | have at least four points for comparison and contrast |
 | include topic sentences for each paragraph |

Then, write an essay following these
guidelines:

The introduction should comment on the significance of the
topic and state the thesis clearly |

point-by-point or subject-by-subject organization.

Each body paragraph should begin or end with a clear topic
sentence.

At least four points should be compared or contrasted.

The comparison and contrast should be supported with facts,
statistics, or expert opinions gathered from secondary sources [minimum two
sources].

The final paragraph should include some conclusion you draw
based on the discussion in the body paragraphs.

Use MLA citations when quoting or paraphrasing material form
secondary sources
