Certificates of Achievement

List of Possible Achievements

ALTA Program Practitioners award ALTA Program adult learners with Certificates of Achievement and have found that the adult learners welcome this praise. Some of the adult learners have posted their certificates on their refrigerators, sent them to parents, or shared them with grandchildren. Certificates of Achievement are rewarded for the obtainment of long and/or short term goals. "Nothing succeeds like success" is a familiar adage to many educators and certainly part of the ALTA Program's philosophy. The Certificates of Achievement prove this adage to be true.

The ALTA Program clerical staff create certificates during the middle of each month. Document all requests for Certificate of Achievements on an Adult Learner's Contact Record form with the correct spelling of the client's name and the achievement. Certificates of Achievement will be signed and dated by the Associate Dean of the Community and Workforce Development division and by the ALTA Coordinator. There is also a line for the ALTA instructor's signature. Certificates of Achievement will be placed in instructor's folder. A copy of the certificate is placed in the ALTA client's confidential folder by the clerical staff. You need not request a Certificate of Achievement for attendance as they are done once a month by the clerical staff.

Adult learners receive certificates during instructional sessions and list their Certificates of Achievement on their Individual Educational Plans before they take them home.
