  • Provided services to over 900 learners

  • Successful GED passing rate of 75%, compared to the national average passing rate of 67%

  • Over 60% of our adult learners obtained or retained full or part time employment

  • In previous years, the ALTA Program has had three learners awarded for being the Most Outstanding Adult Learner in Pennsylvania. In addition, two ALTA Program practitioners were recognized for being Exemplary Practitioners and received the APEX Award.

What You Need To Know about the GED Tests:

  • The General Educational Development (GED) Testing Service is the agency that develops and distributes the GED test. There are currently 5 tests: Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Math. The Writing test includes an Essay on a topic assigned at the test. Each State sets the scores necessary for passing the test and issues the GED certificate to successful test takers. One in seven diplomas in the United States is a GED diploma.
